Communications

Time differences:

Our normal times of business are 9.00 am to 6.00 pm GMT. We also use Daylight Saving Time (Summer Time). As we work from home it may be possible to speak to us out with these times within reason.

Equivalent Scotland and European times:

If you do not use Daylight Saving Time in the Summer months then there may be a 1 hour time difference from the above. Actual times can be checked at http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html.

Payment Methods / Protx

Payments can be made securely using the above debit/credit cards or by PayPal or by UK cheque.

Larger orders can also be paid by Bank Transfer, if required.

PROTX

PROTX is our payment Service provider, an established UK company. They are responsible for processing any credit and debit card payments on our behalf and the go between, between your Card Company and our Merchant Services Bank. PROTX specialize in payment processing of card transactions for the internet.

Provided you supplied an accurate e-mail address, you will receive a PROTX e-mail confirming the transaction details, when it goes through.

Exchange Rates and Currency Matters

All our prices are in GB Pounds and the exchange rate applied will be dependent on the ‘Market Rates’ at any particular time. This is the rate that is indicated in our currency converter, which can be selected from any product page. The actual rate applied may differ, however:

Credit / Debit Cards

The actual exchange rate applied to any transaction is determined not by us but by your credit or debit card provider and we have no control over this. If you do want to find out more about the actual exchange rate likely to be applied, then please contact your card company direct. 

PayPal

Paypal use there own rates, again based on the market rate but it is generally straight forward to determine the amount you are paying in EURs or other currency, through your Paypal account pages.

Import Duty

Import taxes do not apply to orders supplied to any country within the European Union.

The prices on the web site are the GBP prices you pay for any item(s). They do not include any UK Value added tax (VAT) as we are not currently registered for VAT and are therefore not required to add this tax to our prices. 

Delivery to Europe

(Typically a package with 5 metres of Standard tartan fabric weighs about 2 kg)

Package weight below 2 kg (4.4 lb)

• For smaller packets with a value below £30.00 (30.00 GBP is about 54.00 USD) we normally use UK Post Office standard air mail with ‘certificate of posting’, which includes insurance cover.
  Delivery time aimed at, is within 3 working days.
   
• For higher value items (over £30.00), we normally use UK Post Office INTERNATIONAL SIGNED FOR. The mail is then registered (Signed For) at the destination address.
  Delivery time aimed at is again within 3 working days.
  Note: The maximum weight we can send with this service is 2 Kg (4.4 lb)
   
• Special Request Service: AIRSURE service is available for some European destinations for a faster, safer and more reliable air mail delivery, with ‘electronic tracking of delivery’.
  (Includes: Andorra, Austria, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belguim, Canary Islands, Corsica, Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Germany, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Madeira, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Republic of Ireland, Slovak Republic, Spain, Spitzbergen, Sweden, and Switzerland).
  An additional small charge on top of our standard shipping charges may be required for this service.
  Note: Airsure is only available for packages weighing up to 2 kg.

Package weight over 2 kg (4.4)

• Standard method is Parcel Force INTERNATIONAL STANDARD air mail. Items will be insured with this service. Maximum weight is 30 kg (66 lb).
  Delivery time is 3 - 5 working days.
   
• Special Request Service: INTERNATIONAL DATAPOST is the fastest service we can offer for heavier weight items up to 30kg.
  Delivery time is 1 - 4 working days.
  
  This guaranteed service will be charged at cost. Typically 60.00 GBP (about 88 EUR) for a package weighing 3 kg (6.6 lb).
  (Note: This service can also be used for fast delivery of smaller items less than 2 kg but it is very expensive compared to AIRSURE).
